GPX-Studio is a user-friendly online tool for creating and editing GPS routes. Routes can be easily planned, adjusted, and enhanced with waypoints—making it ideal for hiking, cycling, and other outdoor activities. Finished routes can be exported as GPX files and transferred to navigation devices or apps.

Attention:
Using GPX-Studio does not require registration or an account. This free online tool runs directly in your browser, and all GPX files and edits are stored locally on your device – they are not saved on a server.
Important:
If you clear your browser cache, LocalStorage, or cookies, the stored data will be lost. To prevent losing your work, make sure to regularly export and back up your GPX files.

Key Features of GPX-Studio:
- Easily plan routes by placing points on the map
- Edit tracks (move, add, or delete points)
- Split long routes into multiple sections
- Merge multiple GPX tracks
- Trim routes or extract specific segments
- Add and manage waypoints (POIs)
- Display and analyze elevation profiles
- Import and export GPX files
- Undo/redo editing steps
- Use different map views for better planning

I mainly use the following tools:
SPLIT TRACKS
Track zerteilen (Schritt für Schritt):
Splitting a Track (Step by Step):
- Load the GPX track you want to split
- Switch to edit mode and select the track
- Zoom in to the point where you want to split the track
- Click on the specific point in the track
- Choose the option “Split Track”
- The track will be divided into two separate sections
Tip: You can split multiple times to create several stages or save and edit each section individually.
- The individual route sections are displayed clearly below the map and are color-coded. The colors can be customized (see image) to clearly distinguish different stages. They can also be hidden on the map if needed.
- Difference between CROP and SPLIT (scroll down a bit)
- Multiple routes can also be merged (see below: Merge)

Tip:
Splitting a track is especially useful for multi-day tours, as it keeps each stage clear and makes navigation easier.
Summary: Difference between CROP and SPLIT
Split:
- Divides a track at a specific point into two or more sections
- All parts are preserved
- Ideal for breaking long routes into stages
Crop:
- Trims a track to a specific segment
- Everything outside the selected section is removed
- Ideal for keeping only a specific part of a route
In short:
Split = divide into parts
Crop = trim to a segment
MERGE TRACKS

Load all desired GPX tracks Make sure the order is correct (Start → Finish) Select one track Choose the “Merge” option Select the additional tracks to append Confirm → the tracks will be combined into a single continuous track The new track can be downloaded as a GPX file and transferred to your device
