my Cube Nuroad C:62 … That’s how it all began/ info
The Transcontinental Race (TCR) is one of the most challenging ultra-distance cycling races in the world. The route crosses Europe for several thousand kilometres — non-stop and unsupported, with no fixed route between a few mandatory checkpoints and several mandatory parcours.
My race took me 5,100 kilometres from Trondheim, Norway, to Kalamata, Greece. Along the way, I had to tackle an incredible 51,000 metres of elevation gain, all while riding a 22 kg bike. That works out at an average of 260 km and 2,600 metres of elevation gain every day.
The result of TCRNO12:
397 starters / 186 finishers (46%) / 172 DNFs
This is my story… And if you want to know whether I managed to complete this mammoth distance in just 20 days, then read on here:
| part 1 start-CP1 (Flam) | part 2 CP1-Ystad (Poland) | part 3 Svinemünde (ferry) to CP2 | part 4 CP2 to CP3 (Sarajevo) |
| part 5 CP3 to CP4 (Albania) | part 6 CP4 to the finishline |
